“They Looked Like Strong Hands” was created in 2017, the first year of Donald Trump’s Presidency and Administration. It addresses the resilient role of historical and contemporary women. She wears blue stockings - a derogatory term for an educated 18th century woman- with The Scarlet Letter A+ written on her forehead. She has reached the end of her sewing thread but still stands strong. Wearing classic red lipstick and Wizard of Oz inspired ruby red high-heels, the image represents the individual and collective woman who has endured disrespect and abuse of power in a mans world and at home.

“Miss Information” was created in 2017, the first year of Donald Trump’s Presidency and Administration. The image satirizes Lady Liberty in a Beauty Pageant fashion standing beside common verbal expressions delivered on television to the public by the President in his signature gaslighting manner. It explores truth about truth and communication, the mind-f*ckery of being a female, and how to make things right when what’s wrong is so complex. The image represents the individual and collective woman who has endured disrespect and abuse of power; encouraged to smile, have a good attitude, and also be attractive while doing so.
